Child Safety Standards

Kacha is an adults-only financial tool, but it has social surfaces — groups, names, notes and shared images. This page sets out our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation, how to report a concern, and what we do about it.

1. Our position

Kacha has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for any content that sexualises a minor.

There is no warning, no strike system and no appeal on the merits for this category. A confirmed case results in immediate and permanent account termination, preservation of the relevant evidence, and a report to the appropriate authorities.

These standards apply to every part of the Service — profile names and photos, group names, expense descriptions and notes, uploaded receipt and bill images, invitations, and any message or content a user can put in front of another user. They apply worldwide, regardless of where the user is located or whether the conduct is criminal in their jurisdiction.

2. Age requirement

  • Kacha is for users aged 18 and above. It is not designed for, marketed to, or directed at children.
  • We do not build child-facing features, child accounts, or content aimed at minors.
  • Account creation requires an age affirmation, and our store listings are rated for a mature audience accordingly.
  • You must not create an account for, or on behalf of, anyone under 18, and you must not add a person under 18 to a group.
  • If we learn a user is under 18, we disable the account and delete the associated personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

Adults remain fully responsible for their own accounts. Sharing a device or an account with a child does not transfer that responsibility.

3. What is prohibited

The following are strictly prohibited on Kacha:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any image, video or depiction of a minor in a sexual context, real, edited or synthetic, including AI-generated material.
  • Sexualisation of minors in any text, name, description, note or image.
  • Grooming or solicitation — using groups, invites, display names or notes to contact, lure, or attempt to develop a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes.
  • Sextortion or threatening to distribute intimate imagery of a minor.
  • Trafficking or advertising a minor for sexual purposes, or facilitating such conduct.
  • Linking to, requesting, or promoting any of the above, on Kacha or elsewhere.
  • Normalising or glorifying the sexual abuse of children.

We also prohibit non-sexual endangerment of children — content that promotes physical harm, exploitation or abuse of a minor — and any use of Kacha to conceal or organise such conduct.

4. Where risk exists in Kacha

Being honest about the surface area is part of managing it. Kacha is not a messaging or social network, and it has no public feed, discovery, stranger matching or direct-message inbox. User-to-user exposure is limited to:

  • Display names and profile photos visible to members of a shared group.
  • Group names and group invitations, including guest invite links.
  • Expense descriptions, notes and category labels within a group.
  • Receipt and bill images attached to a shared expense.

Each of these is a place where a bad actor could attempt to place or transmit prohibited content, and each is covered by the measures below.

5. How we prevent and detect abuse

  • Design. No public profiles, no stranger discovery, no open feed, no unsolicited contact. Group membership requires an invitation from an existing member.
  • Age gating. An 18+ affirmation at sign-up and a mature store rating.
  • Automated detection. Images shared into groups are screened using industry hash-matching and classification techniques for known and suspected CSAM, alongside text screening of names and notes.
  • Human review. Trained staff review escalations and every CSAE report. Reviewers follow a documented procedure that minimises exposure and preserves evidence.
  • Enforcement. Content removal, group takedown, device and account blocking, and permanent termination.
  • Governance. A named internal owner for child safety, staff training, periodic review of these standards, and record-keeping of reports and outcomes.

No detection system is perfect. These measures reduce risk; they do not eliminate it, and they are not a substitute for vigilance by users, parents and guardians.

6. How to report a concern

If you encounter prohibited content or conduct on Kacha:

  • By email — kacha@pulsekaki.com, our published child safety point of contact. Put child safety in the subject line. Include the group name, the account involved and the approximate time, and do not attach or forward any suspected illegal imagery.

Reports made in good faith will never count against your account. Deliberately false reports are a breach of our Terms.

7. What we do with a report

  • Triage within 24 hours. CSAE reports jump every other queue.
  • Immediate containment. Suspected content is removed from view and the account is suspended pending review.
  • Preservation. Relevant data is preserved in a restricted-access hold for law enforcement, and is not deleted by a routine account-deletion request.
  • Decision. Confirmed CSAE results in permanent termination of the account and any linked accounts, and a block on re-registration.
  • Reporting. We report confirmed CSAM and credible child-endangerment to the appropriate authorities and recognised reporting bodies.
  • Follow-up. Where lawful and safe to do so, we tell the reporter that action was taken. We do not disclose details of another user’s account.

8. For parents and guardians

  • Kacha should not be installed on a device used unsupervised by a child, and a child should not have access to an adult’s Kacha account.
  • Use the parental controls built into iOS (Screen Time) and Android (Google Family Link) to restrict app installation and purchases.
  • Enable a device passcode — a child with an unlocked device can otherwise see household financial records.
  • If you believe a child has created an account or provided us with personal data, email kacha@pulsekaki.com and we will disable the account and delete the data.

9. Published point of contact

We review these standards at least annually and whenever our features, our risk profile or the applicable law changes.
